Creating Positive Outcomes; Resolving & dealing effectively with everyday challenges \nHaving to deal with difficult people and situations, whether inside your organisation or externally can be a real challenge for most local councils, which can lead to staff and volunteers feeling demoralised, de-motivated and stressed.\nThis two-hour training session will examine the guiding principles and procedures to help prevent possible conflict and problems occurring. It will also cover some of the challenges, scenarios and solutions to dealing with conflict and difficult issues.\nThe session will include:\n\nThe Nolan Principles – The Seven Principles of Public Life\nGuide to a good councillor\nStaff training (and responsibilities)\nConflict resolution – examples and solutions\nAdopting and implementing good policies\n\nDealing with;\n\nInternal conflicts, bullying and well-being\nDealing with challenging people and members of the public\nThe rumour mill – misinformation and fake news\nAdverse public or press campaigns\nSocial Media\nContractors and legal agreements\n\nRunning time: 2 hours approximately depending on Q&A\nRemote access: Zoom joining instructions will be issued closer to the time\nCourse tutor: Mike Deegan\nCancellation: A full refund will be given if 14 days or more notice prior to the date of the training course is given.
