DESCRIPTION:With Paul Hoey & Natalie Ainscough\nHoey Ainscough Associates Ltd work fulltime in supporting councils on Code of Conduct issues. They were local government advisers to the Committee on Standards in Public Life for their 2019 review of the Localism Act and were commissioned by the LGA to produce the model Code of Conduct and supporting guidance and by NALC and SLCC to produce supporting documents for the Civility and Respect Project.\nIn this session Paul Hoey will reflect on why civility and respect lies at the heart of good governance and the damage that can be caused to councils when respect and trust break down.
